SADDLE TIME IS TANNING TIME
The sun simply seemed to disappear for months. Only the faint, slightly brighter spot that traveled behind the clouds gave any clue to its existence. Constant drizzling rain kept the leaves dotted with drops, kept the roads slick, made everything humid, and you tracked mud everywhere. Well, for all you northern hemisphere dwellers, now thatʼs over, and we can finally rejoice in the emergence of lifeʼs greatest pleasure: summer cycling. The clouds receded one by one and by now maybe all youʼre dealing with is the occasional afternoon thunderstorm that threatens in the distance but never quite rolls up. Have you recently found yourself caught out on a warmer than expected day in arm warmers, some kind of thick, possibly long sleeve woolen jersey, and some somber cycling tights still splashed with last monthʼs road spray? Maybe itʼs time to relish the sun again and let those rays introduce you to the definition of tanning time tanning time.
REMEMBERING THE SUN
Riding in the early morning is a pleasure lost in the winter months. For many, it becomes simply unfeasible to roll out during the most peaceful, early part of the day. Now that the sun is back and nearing full force, take the time to remember the joys and benefits of early morning riding. Less traffic, early morning peace and stillness, more wildlife, and most importantly beating the heat; such are just some of the reasons amongst many for cherishing the return of the sunʼs warmth and glory by setting out at first light.
DONʼT HOLD BACK
After months of dark, cold roads and chattering teeth on descents, why hold back your joy at the summery change in fortunes? Go for color and patterning rather than more droll grey or safe white. When your turn comes up in the paceline, let those on your wheel gaze at your summer fruits.
DAWN PATROL DAWN PATROL
Perhaps you even neglected your bike altogether during the winter months. Many riders, and maybe youʼre one of them, work early hours and can only hit out on the road just before the sunʼs first rays touch down. Members of the dawn patrol, we salute you, even if you went AWOL during the toughest winter months. But as they say, “the darkest hour is just before dawn.”
BE BOLD BE BOLD
Riding in the summer is the perfect time to light up your personality with a bold kit that combines airy, quick-drying fabrics for the hottest days and masterful strokes of color. The supple comfort of proprietary materials brings fresh air over the skin keeping you cool both in feel and looks.
EXTEND THE VIBE TO YOUR EXTEND THE VIBE TO YOUR BIBS
Who said that color stops at the jersey? We would be lying if we said weʼve never wondered where the all-black bib rule came from. Once youʼve started with the colors up top, thereʼs no good reason to keep them from accenting the source of your power: your legs. Splashing an accent of color on the bibs makes great aesthetic sense and draws the observerʼs visual adventure from top to bottom.
SHIELD THOSE RAYS SHIELD THOSE RAYS
A couple of months ago surely the furthest thought from your mind was shielding the suns rays. In fact, you were probably desperately soaking up any spot of sunlight that broke through the clouds. Well, the tide always turns, and now our local star is everywhere, so much so that you need a bit of polarization to keep things optimal. Sharklook brings a treasure trove worth of color assortment making absolutely sure you can match or clash your summer kit up. Which combo strikes your eye?
